"To laugh, or not to laugh.
That's the REAL question."

Over the entrance to the library at Thebes 2,500 years ago was an
inscription:
Medicine for the Soul.
On the off chance that the Greeks were right, we've made a few lists of
stuff that may well be good for what ails you, mentally, maybe even physically as well.
Three lists, actually: books, movies, and Internet sites. And please note:
None of these lists is exhaustive. Call 'em "starter kits for feeling better."
Our main emphasis is on laughter. Nothing fancy. Just stuff that makes us
laugh, and maybe you too.
Please don't start in on us here about lit crit values, gender studies,
hegemony, the canon, whatever. The only thing we were thinking about was books and movies
that make us laugh.
"Great" art? Who cares. At least not in this context.
We also added a couple of shorter categories ("catharsis," and
"escape"), but mainly we were after yoicks, BIG yoicks.
There's some potent medicine here, folks. Enjoy.
