Something's happening here, and what it is ain't exactly clear: From Patent No. 1
to 1,000,000: 75 years.
From No. 1,000,000 to 2,000,000: 25 years.
From No. 2,000,000 to 3,000,000: 25 years.
From No. 3,000,000 to 4,000,000: 15 years.
From No. 4,000,000 to 5,000,000: 15 years.
From No. 5,000,000 to 6,000,000: 8 years.
- Reason to be bullish on humanity?
- Or is it hubris in bloom ("Pride goeth before
the fall," etc.)?
- Evidence that we're finally unleashing our global
intelligence (the inventors behind the numbers above are not just Americans; they are
transnational)?
- The death of art?
- Or just the birth pains of new arts?
- International capitalist exploitation?
- Or hope for billions of children whose parents had
no hope?
