Yes, some will be shocked to find France ranked here, but surely the following have raised the country once and for all above the Low Culture level.

Any nation which has given the world such accomplishments as:

1. Raising the making of gravy to a high culinary art;

2. An extremely accurate blueprint for gratifyingly bloody political revolutions; and

3. the Citroën 2-CV,

clearly deserves this high position in the cultural order of things.
