More reliable than the Space Shuttle, the classic Zippo has saved more lives than airbags have, and contributed a unique, instantly recognizable sound to human experience. That metallic CLICK! when the Zippo lid shuts speaks volumes about 1) the unquestionable masculinity of the user, 2) the owner's judgment of the venue where the sound is heard (country-western bar, behind the wheel of his extended-cab Dodge Ram, his foreman's foot propped on an orange plastic traffic cone as his crew repairs freeway potholes, etc.), and 3) the hearer him- or herself who shares the venue and thus partakes of the telling CLICK. Sometimes retro is better.
