by Doc Cuddy In December, 1999, NASA launched the Terra satellite. Among the instruments on board is one called MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer), which has sent back the most beautiful true-color images we've seen of the earth. We've selected a few, turned them into a slide show with midi. Note that our images, to save bandwidth, are small and pretty low-resolution. The original NASA images are large, incredibly detailed, and simply breath-taking. If you enjoy what you see here, by all means visit the NASA gallery with its several hundred photos.
