The Saltlick technique lends itself extraordinarily well
to use with hatha yoga. Before you start your daily yoga regimen, choose a saltlick of
moderate length. As you do the asanas, repeat the saltlick, with varying tempo. You'll
find the focused mental activity can often allow your body greater, more rapid release.
Instead of mental recriminations (Why can't I get into the full lotus after six months of
practice! Why do I always fall when I try the scorpion!), your conciousness is wrangling
with untying word knots, so your body can more peacefully go its own way.
