direct might such links between old language and body reality be? Could they be related to
such elemental physiological qualities as heartbeat, breath, walking, running, patterns of
hunger and thirst and sexual readiness, some primitive matrix of emotions? Or might they
arise in connection with far subtler events: synaptic or hormonal chemistry, neurological
firing rates and patterns, the body clock, diurnal, solar, lunar rhythms, or even other
influences which our reductive science still has not perceived? |
