Her mother told her to get more exercise.

She got more exercise, and still made a low score.

Her doctor prescribed tranquillizers.

She took tranquillizers, and still made a low score.

Her ESL teacher, to whom she rarely paid attention, was always telling the class to read more.

One day, she bought a romance novel and started to read it.

She liked the story a lot.

It was about a hero saving a young woman from danger.

She finished it and bought another.

And another.

And another.

Two months later, she passed TOEFL and lived happily ever after.
